A two-day workshop for representatives of regional and local institutions acting on behalf of the Carpathian Convention in the Carpathian Euroregion was held on 30-31 January 2014 in Orelec (Uherce Mineralne).

The meeting took place within the framework of the project "The monitoring system of the Carpathian Convention" PL-SK/KAR/IPP/III/45 co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund and the state budget in the CBC Programme Poland - Slovak Republic 2007-2013.

During the meeting, Ms. Elżbieta Pieniążek-Niemczuk - the coordinator of the project presented the project Partners, so far implemented actions, as well as the planned results of the project. Krzysztof Staszewski – the President of the Association "Pro Carpathia" presented provisions of the Carpathian Convention, and led a discussion on joint projects aimed at the implementation of the Carpathian Convention. An expert from the Polish side, Mr. Grzegorz Sitko led thematic block "Opportunities, problems in the development of sustainable tourism in the area of International Biosphere Reserve East Carpathians." An important point of the workshop was presentation of results of the monitoring on the implementation of the Carpathian Convention which was led by an expert from Poland, Ms. Małgorzata Draganik and an expert from Slovakia, Mr. Miron Mikita - Director of the Regional Development Agency Svidnik.

The highlight of the workshop was signing by the gathered representatives of regional and local institutions a declaration on cooperation in the field of the Carpathian Convention.
